My First Attempt To Re Purpose
Sometimes I just get so inspired by what I see other people doing. I click around a lot at night now while I am feeding my little milk man and I see people making the coolest stuff.
Since I have had Drew I have wanted to get a few new things to wear. I always get anxious to look normal after being pregnant and having a few new pieces of clothing usually is in order. But I am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to go shopping AT ALL. I can not imagine trying something on in a store. Never mind Drew is usually STRAPPED on to me somehow and usually crying.
One day last week when all was quiet I decided to try and "re purpose" a maternity shirt into a shirt I could wear now. I see all sorts of super talented moms doing this and thought I would give it a go.
I just did a quick try on and decided I would sew a straight line up each side to tuck in the "flare" of the top. I have a long way to go before people are popping by this here blog for a tutorial on making fashionable clothing for yourself...but I may actually one day pull this top out to wear it in public. But for now I am just PUBLISHING it on this little blog because none of you can actually laugh in my face.
I was kinda proud of my attempt. If I were to be honest with myself I would probably tell me that is still looks a little maternity. And let me ask you...is it 80's to tuck this type of top in?
I plan to try to re purpose another something somehow...but maybe for now I will try and make an outfit out of this first attempt and ask what you think before I go cutting and sewing all the shirts I own.

You did not just have a baby!!! Look at you girl!! Love the shirt!
ReplyDeleteI am soooo bad at repurposing...it's just so much easier for me to start from scratch. The shirt looks great. I can't believe you can tuck it in this soon! I'm mid-life and can't seem to find anything that doesn't show my muffin-top! Gravity is brutal.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your jeans I think it's a great outfit.
That's really cute, Lisa! I think you did a fantastic job for your first try at repurposing. :)
